Hand Sanitiser Offers/Deals

I thought it might be worth starting a thread to collate any offers and deals for hand sanitiser here.
We're in an era where we all have to get used to washing our hands and for those amongst us with responsibilities for others we also need to provide a safe working/living environment for all.

Let's face it, having a regular supply of hand sanitiser can add up.  Supply seems to have caught up with demand and prices have certainly come down now.

So let's share the offers and deals we've all found online or in shops.  In the spirit of money saving expert... we could all save a few bob!

The little bottles are still somewhat expensive.

What we do is buy 500ml from eBay and decant into the smaller bottles we had from pre Covid. Even if you need to buy a few it still works out cheaper.
  • Yep agreed. I've found Ebay and Amazon now to be less competitive when it comes to hand sanitiser. A 500ml bottle can still cost you £5-8 including delivery on there.
It's quite common to see 500ml bottles on there listed sometimes for even more. I'm not sure why given supply is not as scarce as it was just 2-3 months ago.

Knowing the virus, outside the body at least, is easily destroyed by soap makes handwashing the best option 😃

I keep several cool and soapy flannels in ziplock bags for use during the day. I’m not sure if I imagined this but, as well as the news that the virus spreads more indoors than we realised, I’ve also heard that it likes to hide in the folds behind our ears 🤷‍♀️

I think people get lulled into a false sense of security with hand sanitiser. Thankfully I’ve got several small bottles to use up – I take it with me when I go out but I use it sparingly and just try not to touch anything - especially my face 😃

The MSE way is obviously to buy in a large quantity - A litre, or maybe 5 in a pump dispenser that you could decant into reuseable bottles 😃

i’ve just googled one for the catering industry which works out at £6.20 a litre - it’s roughly the same price as the little bottles you can buy in Superdrug but the advantage that you only have to shop once.

  • Recent scientific findings have shown hand sanitisers are causing more harm than good.
99.9% sounds great, but still leaves many germs running wild on your hands, and these are gaining resistance to alcohol. Before very long, we will have a massive superbug problem if the use of sanitisers isnt stopped.

Soap and Water does a good enough job,
