Job Offer Dilemma

Hello all.
I'm undecided as to whether I should take up an IT job offer from Kier Construction based in London. Kier are willing to pay for my lodging as I'm from Wales and the new role is based in London.
In normal circumstances I would have taken it up as the pay is a large increase compared to what I am presently earning. However, at present Kier are going through a major financial issue with what appears to be a potential risk of collapse into administration or even liquidation. The share price has plummeted to back this up.
Excluding pay, I am currently happy with my employment. The new offer is really enticing however there is a worry I would be made redundant if Kier do collapse.
I would appreciate any thoughts, in particular those on the financial situation of Kier.

For me right now would not be a good time to change jobs and more so if the company have potential financial problems.
You could end up in London jobless and having to find money for a high rent.

Reading between the lines, it seems that you know what to do. I agree with Socajam, now isn't a good time and you don't think Kier's going to last very long. It's a really big gamble. And you'll be in a strange, expensive city without a job.
You say you're happy with your job except for the money. I'd stay there for a while because there really is more to life than money. And it doesn't sound like a good deal to me.Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. You also wouldn't have a right to statutory redundancy before two years of working for the company - so they could just ask you to leave (with whatever the contractual notice is).1
