I think my venue has gone bust but they aren't responding to any communication!

I've been emailing my wedding venue pretty much since lockdown started but haven't heard anything back and now their phone line is disconnected. We booked them a week before lockdown and were awaiting contracts via email to sign, nothing came. I've just heard from the registry office this afternoon that other couples are being told to find other venues for their wedding but we haven't been contacted and we can't get a hold of them. There is no information on their website or social media accounts. I'm lost about what to do. Because of the timing we weren't able to get insurance before the companies stopped new policies. Is there any way I can get our deposit back?

How frustrating for you both.
Have you managed to get in contact with them now, your post was 31st july. I'm afraid, if you haven't heard from them yet, it really doesn't look likely that you will hear anything now. It's so heart breaking.
