Hence the mortgage is now only over 15 years and not 16
It all seems a mistake in the mortgage illustration, but the amount is indeed what it's meant to be even though I was told a different thing.
By the way I think it is the term of the loan what you agree with the bank, regardless of age?

While I agree with you on that.
We had to reduce the mortgage term we wanted as the original term would have taken me too 70 and the lender would need evidence that we could afford a mortgage based on our pensions !
So if your say 51/52 and due to collect the state pension at 67/68 they may refuse a mortgage which takes you past that date.1 -
