What training is available?

Just more of a general query, as to what courses I can sign up for to improve my job training and knowledge whilst I look for jobs (that are FREE)
Or if there's a site which can tell me. I'm on Universal Credit
I spoke with my local job centre about sending me on a course (e.g Forklift Driving), and they said that it's available to me, but not straight away. Basically I have to send job applications to an employer about Forklift qualifications, and then tell them it's available to me and get the course that way
I'm trying to find courses I can do now whilst I'm looking around for jobs (e.g First Aider, Mechanic, Bricklayer, Auto Electrician, etc)
I've completed an Business Admin / Lean Management course, just trying to boost my general skills to apply for more jobs

Also check if your local council offers any sort of financial support in respect of training.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Thank you I'll check those links. Vision2learn is actually the one I'm training with, I'll try the others to see their courses.Marcon said:See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5960710/the-great-free-online-courses-hunt-updated-february-2019

Why the local council with regards to training?Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Presumably because if they'll pay for the training it will meet your requirement for the training to be free.Lil306 said:Marcon said:See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5960710/the-great-free-online-courses-hunt-updated-february-2019

Thanks, I just wasn't sure why it would involve the council.Brynsam said:

They normally deal with housing, I wouldn't have expected them to pay for any training. If anything I would have thought the jobcentre. That's why I was trying to clarify, was confusing
Either way, free training is free trainign
