Opening Joint account during mortgage application

Quick question

My partner and i have just had our full mortgage application submitted. We want to open a Joint bank account for bills and the mortgage payment to come out of for when we move in. Is it wise to do that now or should we wait until everything goes through? I dont want to affect my chances of actually getting a mortgage offer.

Should have done this before not during. To answer your question, wait until you've completed and moved in, multiple searches can be carried out by the lender prior to completion. You don't want to give them any excuse to pull the offer last minute.

We thought this would be the answer. Everything came round so quick after lockdown so we didn't get chance. Thanks for your response though.
