Moving home mortgage preparation

I'm trying to get my finances in order to apply for a mortgage in the next few months. I'm a second time buyer. I'm going to be able to pay a substantial proportion of my credit card debt off which will leave me with a credit balance of about £2k. My available credit balance across all cards is £50k. Should I close some of these accounts? I know a big available balance may be concerning to a lender but I also know that closing the accounts will reduce the average age of my accounts.
Any advice appreciated. Thank you!
