We completed a DIP with HSBC on 21st July and had our offer accepted late last night. I have spoken to HSBC today and due to needing a 90% mortgage, we have to finish the application on the phone or in person. The next available appointment isn't until 18th August and that seems like a very long time unless I'm just overthinking!

I have tried to call L&C mortgage brokers but there phone line was down. I've requested calls back but I'm guessing they are too busy. Does anyone have any suggestions on who else to try as we want to get things moving so we aren't the hold up in the chain!

We have already given the go ahead to solicitors!

You will struggle with 90% LTV .
someone wrote they only accept certain amount of applications per day so you best bet it keep the appointment as you’re guaranteed a slot .
but change the tittle so it reflects that you need an MA for 90% LTV
  • Habito is not bad either
Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!

Asking the interest for brokers is a bit like asking the internet about your local butcher.
Google search to find those in your area.  Avoid the internet/call centre types as these tend to have issues when you are pushing limits or require a bit more focus on your case.

Ask for recommendations from your local Facebook group. You’ll want someone who can focus on YOU alone at 8am, find someone else if they are already trying to submit applications for someone else as they need to go through before they try yours

I wouldn't necessarily rely on that.   In our local group, that has been asked twice in recent times and on both occasions, the multiple recommended advisers were tied sales reps of an insurance company and not independents.    People tend to recommend what they know.  Which may not be what is best.

A number of us who post here are independent mortgage brokers. Why not read the boards and see who you feel gives good advice and send a pm. We are not allowed to approach forumites but most of us are happy to respond to a pm.
