HSBC BBL needs new signature
Options
I got my request in early and was lucky enough to receive my BBL from HSBC in a matter of a few days back in May when they first came out. However, a week or so ago I received an email from echosign telling me that there was an omission on the contract I signed and they need me to sign a new one. Apparently my name is missing from the original document. I have tried ringing HSBC but have been on hold for over an hour twice and been cut off when finally talking to someone!! Incredibly frustrating!!!! I'm pretty sure that it's not a scam now, as the link only takes me to a million page document and requests my signature, but do I really have to re-read and re-sign this thing? I have the money, they have the agreement which does have my name on as I've signed it, so I'm not sure what they're on about. The email is very short, simply stating we made a mistake, sign here. Has this happened to anyone else at all? Perhaps the first few days were wrong? After this one I then applied and received a second BBL for another business and they haven't contacted me about that. When I click on the email confirmation from the first signing, it doesn't show me what I signed, it takes me to the new agreement asking for a signature so I can't see what other differences to the contract they may have made, which is annoying as I'd like to make a direct comparison however lengthy to ensure that they're not changing any other terms on me.

Send them a letter in the post asking for clarification of what went wrong with the first application and details of any changes made to the T&Cs compared to the contract you signed originally."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein1

Just an update on this, the link they sent me expired last night so I rang them just before 5pm as a last ditch attempt to be sure what was going on. After an hour and 5 minutes, the hold music stopped and I was listening to clicks and realised that it had gone 6pm and they'd just cut me off. Nice!! Anyway, rang again this afternoon, managed to speak to an actual human being after about 50 minutes who didn't cut me off and he said that there's no record of it on my account. I already have the money so ignore it. He said he thought it could be that maybe I clicked on apply twice before perhaps. I guess I could have done but that actually doesn't make sense as they reference the fact that I've signed something already, so I think it's unlikely that they think this is a separate application. So well, I guess at this point I'm ignoring it as that's what they've told me to do. He did assure me that they won't be taking the money out of my account so it's all good I guess.0
