Dear MMHPI, please could you make it easier for people with mental health difficulties to tell their bank and other service providers, they have a mental or other health issue? A good friend of mine suffers from bi-polar disorder and was very recently scammed, twice, losing a few thousand pounds. My friend is now frightened about what might happen next and doesn't trust anybody, understandably. My friend has now changed bank, mobile number and home phone number. But I fear the scammers will not give up now my friend has been identified as a target. I'd like a standard "extra help needed" button or some way that people with mental health difficulties (and those with learning difficulties, or dementia, or some physical disabilities) could notify their bank and other service providers and utility companies that they have a mental health issue/learning disability/physical disability and they are/might be a target for scammers, and they may need extra safeguards on their account(s).
