    Yes, i opened a Barclays and a nationwide straight after. Barclays only lets you apply for a normal account online and then declines you this and offers you a basic one. Unless you already bank with Barclays and you can open a basic account using video banking in the app

    I am actually preferring the nationwide account. Not actually sure why but they seem easier to deal with once it was all set up
