Please could somebody help, my sons father has moved to Scottland with his eldest son who is 16 ( from a former marriage) His eldest son will be living with his dad full time however will be doing a Scottish apprenticeship, paid for by his father's company he works for in Scottland. I am beining paid minimum child support for our son, which also includes not being paid because he is claiming his son ( in Scottland) is in full time education. Any guidance greatly appreciated

Just claim through CMS1

In Scotland, a Modern Apprenticeship is an approved training course, and the apprentice will be regarded as being in full-time education. Claiming through the CMS would leave them to decide whether your child maintenance payment is correct or not, but wonder if it is possible to just call the CMS and ask the question? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1
