Underpaid Tax after discharge

Options
Hi, I’m hoping someone may be able to help with this one. I was discharged from bankruptcy 1st January 2020, and as declared bankrupt 1st January 2019 - I have received a letter from HMRC saying that I have underpaid tax in year 2918/2019 by £2300, I believe this may have something to do with the nil tax code I was on.

Have I missed something or done something wrong which means I now have a big tax bill to repay? I’m a little confused so any help would be great!

Thanks

Yes i had this as well with my tax code changing for 5 months to a zero one. Just contact them and inform them that you were made bankrupt, provide the documentation, and they will sort it.

They even sent me a £30 compo cheque without me even asking for it.

With mine they annoyingly changed my tax code to try and claw it back, so I had a month paying too much tax, although was corrected by the month afterwards and I got the extra tax back then as well.  So it wasnt a "demand" as such, more a change of tax code notice.
