Hi please if anybody can help me my brother has me if I would help him with his earnings with jbsp mortgage I'd love to be able to help but after hours of searching I can't find the one answer I'm looking for wich is I'm 26 will helping my brother with this mortgage will it affect me in the future if I wanted to buy my first home as a first time buyer also would this affect my credit score. Your credit score / rating are not seen or used by any UK financial institutions, it's the credit history they see and use, amongst other things.

If you are named on a mortgage, that will affect affordability for your own mortgage.

Perhaps say to your sibling he should set his sights lower, move further out and save for longer.

I have been advised to have a JBSP mortgage with my daughter being the joint borrower and myself the sole propriator.  Will this affect her being a first time buyer in the future when she gets her own mortgage as in will she still be seen as a first time buyer to qualify for help to buy deals etc. or would they consider her to already have had a mortgage even though effectively she is a guarantor.  The answer above wasn't very explanitory.

She will already have a mortgage.  That will mean she can afford to borrow less if she still has it.  If some special deal requires her to have never had a mortgage before, then she will not qualify.

She will not already own or have owned a property.
