33scott , good for you , I'm a little envious! strange when you look back on these posts from 5 years ago, mine has changed a little , mostly through learning from this site to be fair, but I'm now targeting semi retirement end of next year , and on track more or less, in hindsight one of my saviours was the money i stashed for the kids, even when i couldn't really afford it, 60/70 per month and they both have £20k plus for university and whatever else, it has made my retirement decision less about them and more about me and OH, i'm looking forward to it even though I'll likely have to do 2/3 days per week for a couple of years, unless i downsize , which i still might do - good luck with you retirement , as my wife (10 years younger) keeps telling me , we've done our bit now to time to chill a little!5
