Mortgage Broker Requesting Original Identification Documents via post

Hello,
We are going through a mortgage broker and they have requested we send our original documents be sent via post.
Given the current circumstance, Is this normal practice?

The current circumstances dont really change ID verification checks.
That being said, there are ways to do it electronically and it is pretty rare we get original paperwork - only if the electronic ID checks fail. It's pretty commonplace for solicitors to do the same thing, I don't think current circumstances come into it.0
