I am due the state pension on 15 November this year on my 66th birthday.
I am in Egypt at the moment and will be until next year.
Yesterday my sister, who opens my mail, said I received a letter from Pensions.
They just gave a unique reference number, their website address and a free phone number - 0808.
I don't think I can phone the free phone number on my Egyptian mobile.  I don't have a UK mobile.
My question is, if I go onto the website, will I be able to complete the form and apply for the pension?
Or will I have to fly back to the UK and do everything from there?

If you’ve received a letter about getting your State Pension, you can use the invitation code from it.

There is only one way to find out !  Have you tried accessing the form to see if an overseas ip is blocked ?  There is a different process if claiming the pension overseas which could trip you up if you are temporarily living overseas. There is also the good old fashioned download, print and send in the post paper form option.

Went into the website they gave in the letter.

Got the website and they say I can apply online with my identification number they also gave.

But when I clicked onto Get Your Pension now, I am getting Access Denied - you do not have permission.

What does that mean?

As molerat highlight, it sounds like they are blocking you since you are overseas—a sensible precaution to be honest.

I am only here for a few months on holiday.
They have my UK address which is where they sent the letter to.
