  • If you send your final response from the lender, plus their statements. Bank statements help too, particularly if you have multiple loans.
  • Hi,
How long did it take for your payday loan with payday Uk to be resolved. I currently have one with the FOS for loans with PDUK dating back to 2009 and had been with them since May last year. Was just wondering how long yours took
  • Hi there,
I currently have a claim that has been assessed and approved by Wonga, however I have recently received 2 emails that contradict one another so I want to speak to someone to clarify the situation.
I have sent an email asking for clarification; and whilst I recognise that they are busy dealing with so many previous customers, that was sent 13th Jan and I still haven't heard anything today (22nd Jan).
I have also made 7 phone calls during the last 10 days (lasting between 15 and 50 mins on hold) to their customer support line at different times where possible around work (lines open Mon-Fri 9-5). Unfortunately I get that same message of "we are experiencing a high volume of calls at the moment", regardless of the time or day I call.
I also noticed that the official twitter page for Wonga last posted on 3rd Sept 2018 and they don't appear to be responding to tweets (not that I am on twitter).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get in touch with a seemingly uncontactable company???
    Any help greatly appreciated :)
    Thanks
  • Didn't wonga go into administration? Go to website called debt camel. It's a great source of advice and information on complaints, FOS etc. Helped me out a lot.

Started 2019 with £22,5000 debt - March 2021 Debt free - stick with it people I did and now never felt better
  • Morning all,

I've recently been convinced to put in a formal complaint to Provident for loans taken out over about a 15 year period (I'm aware that the ombudsman will only actually go back to 2007, but the overall period helps context in this forum I think) during which time little attempt was made by my agent(s) to verify earnings, affordability or anything else...

I went through a period of real stress during this period as I was suffering from depression and later a gambling and drink addiction. I made no attempt to hide this and indeed a couple of the agents I was provided with by Provident were sympathetic and even discussed their own problems with me.

During this period I must have paid about £20k in interest.

I borrowed increasing amounts, I started to borrow more frequently and often borrowed more to repay my existing loan to obtain a top up after being told that this was the only way to get more.

At one stage, I took a £1.5k loan while only earning £13k per year and never had to supply bank statements, payslips etc. I was even advised what to say at times when I was asked to discuss a loan with the regional manager - and that was to lie about existing debt, gambling problems etc.

I'm now in a position where I've got control of my gambling (ok, I had a recent lapse but it's under control again and I should have my debt repaid by October this year) and don't drink but looking back... It really did have an impact on my life by compounding the issue and enabling me to continue to gamble without seeking help.

I've contacted them, I've asked for a list of loans while they investigate but I'm worried that I have no evidence beyond whatever they supply? When I contacted Step Change and arranged a DMP I basically panicked and scrapped all my documentation, bank statements etc. I also changed banks as I had an overdraft which was being included in the DMP so can't access anything...

Has anyone else been in this position and been able to successfully make a claim against them?

    Thanks,
  • Hello,

Apologies if this is already answered on here I have had a look but couldn’t see anything.

I complained to payday loan lenders in 2018 And none of my complaints were upheld. At the time I didn’t take it further (my own fault) I had just had enough of dealing with it all and put it in the back of my mind - now I am suffering the consequences of this (again don’t want sympathy) but I can’t forward my complaints to the FOS as the responses were more than 6 months ago - has anyone else encountered this ? Is there any way around it? Thanks in advance
  • New here and in a right pickle.  Have decided to make complaints to the following:-

    Sunny
    Satsuma
    My Jar
    Quick Quid
    Lending Stream

Anyone had any experience with these?

    Hi all,
I just wanted to share with you all that it is worth pursuing and making a complaint to any lender.  Back in 2016 I Got myself into a serious mess, had already got a default and really should have gone into a DMP, however Everyday Loans offered me a 7k loan. I struggled to make the payments and borrowed from other payday loans to keep up with payments. In Aug 2018 my payment didn’t go through and the company were very threatening and said I had to pay! I felt pressured into taking out another loan to pay them. I found a loan and made the payment but was annoyed with myself for getting into more debt. I wrote a complaint letter which was ignored- I called my branch and there was a new temp manager- I don’t he fitted inn with the company, he was really nice, listened to me and told me I should have never been given the loan as didn’t even pass the proper checks. With no evidence apart from his words, I wrote to the head office- an incompetent women replied getting most of the details wrong and basically saying all was ok. I wrote to the ombudsman March 2018 and they have been so busy but today they wrote to me agreeing that everyday loans should never have funded me and that they are to pay back any interest I paid plus 8%- I’m not sure how much this will be but I estimate 6k! I am literally over the moon! I have now cleared all my debts so this will be the start of my savings
  • Hi I just wanted some advice regarding what to do next after my complaint not being upheld by safety net credit, but a good will gesture instead offered. They have offered to clear my balance of around £1200 and be marked as settled.
To give an idea, between February 2015 and November 2016 I repaid £17,600 roughly.
I was regularly having to borrow and pay back the money as my limit increased, to the highest of £1100 a month.
I also had a gambling issue which was clear to see as safety net credit have access to all bank statements. I had other pay day loans I was also taking out.
Do people think its worth me escalating further to ombudsman as safety net credit has said it is their final response, but I'm confident it wasn't used properly and I was in a cycle of lending money days after paying off what I had borrowed to get through. I was extremely stressed and left my job at the end of all this because it had got so bad
    Thanks
    Lauren
  • @Lauren2727 If you are not happy with the response, you should definitely escalate to the FOS. There is a link on their website. Just explain why you are unhappy with their response.
