No. They won't keep paying out on the same complaint.

  • Hello everyone,

I have just sent off my first email to all the payday companies I used this morning.

Peachy have responded very quickly with all the details of the loans I took out with the following message:

"We are most sorry to learn that you have been dissatisfied with the service we have provided and can confirm that we will be conducting a thorough investigation into your concerns. Once we have completed this, we will write to you again".

Should I wait until they contact me again or should I proceed with the next stage i.e full complaint?

Many thanks for any advice you can offer on this.

    Hi Sourcrates.

Thank you for your reply. I used the template on Debt Camel's website as follows:

I am making a complaint to you about irresponsible lending.

To help me explain the details, I am making a Subject Access Request, asking for a list of my loans, showing for each loan when it was taken out, how much interest and charges you added and what I repaid.

Under GDPR you are not allowed to charge me for this information.

You should never have given me these unaffordable loans. I am asking you to refund the interest and any charges I paid, plus statutory interest, and to delete any negative information from my credit record.

Ah well that should be sufficient for them to investigate, see what comes back, then take the appropriate action.

Hi, does anybody have a rough irea of how long it usually takes for th ombudsman to investigate a complaint? I initially complained to Wonga in January this year, and then went on to the FOS in late march. I have heard from them to tell me that wpnga had refused to uphold my first few loans as they were over 6 years old (just) but i tpld them to disregard them as they were relatively small amounts. This was about 4 weeks ago and ive since submitted my bank statements and credit file as they requested. Do they usually give an email when the investigatopn has started (8 week countdown)? I juat want this put to bed now and it seems to be taking forever.

    Thanks guys

    Hi,

I sent off requests for statements of account for all payday lenders I thought I had used.

I have just received an email from payday express which took 6 weeks for them to send. It has a statement showing 2 loans I had with them but the second one is showing as still outstanding from 2011. I definitely don't have any loans outstanding and have never had correspondence from them before?

Will they demand this money now? I am sure I don't owe it.
  • Hello everyone,

I have received a "Final Response" from Peachy, a company who I took out 15 loans with. They have offered to pay me £205 for interest for the last 8 loans I took out with them but not the rest.

This is the first company that has responded with an offer to me. My question is though - is the first offer normally rejected? When I look at the statements for the last 8 loans the interest actually comes to £363.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I am completely new to this process.
