Claiming back missing payment

Options
Advice and help appreciated. Self employed contractor, working in logistics. A payment (my wages for the week) was made to a closed bank account and redirected to source. Accounts department say they can't find it, business bank account say they will provide a proof of return to source document. This is 9 weeks ago. Bank can't give timeframe on document. Accounts department asking for different documents every week. I.e. bank statements (provided), proof of account closure, (bank won't provide for security reasons). Is the ombudsman an option? I can't afford to lose the work so I don't want to cause friction but I am very concerned this has taken so long.

Who gave the company the bank details?
Was the bank account closed using the CASS?
If so did you check the account it was transferred to?

  • The accountant I was referred to handled the account numbers.
All payments since this have been fine.
Checked the closed account and definitely no activity.
