  • This thread has re-ignited my interest in this technology. I just need to ponder whether the issue about excess heat in summer is really a show stopper and whether the inclusion of a large Tesla style battery would allow us to go off the electrical grid completely (except perhaps for export of excess electricity).
    5.18 kWp PV systems (3.68 E/W & 1.5 E).
    Solar iBoost+ to two immersion heaters on 350L thermal store.
    100% composted food waste
    Mini orchard planted and vegetable allotment created.

    We are big hot water users so no excess heat problem for us so I am hoping that the new govt green scheme might make this make a lot of sense come the autumn, especially as we currently get 26p/unit for exports under a v2g trial.  Hopefully an extra kw of export would not be enough for the DNO to kybosh the idea.
