So strange that they haven’t extended the scheme due to covid. We’re trying to find out whether we’ll be ok due to still meeting the criteria.

hope it all works out for you.

There seems to be a clause in the contract which states completion is dependant on funding being available from Homes England, which I believe removes the risk of them keeping the deposit if the H2B issue becomes a reality?

Been told my plot is due to be build complete by December this year and legally complete by January 2021. Very tight!

    Where is this clause?

I am inclined to exchange. CML should be October. Our roof is on, windows and electricity done. Plumbing next then plastering. Surely October will be ok and complete by March 2021. Also we will not be the only people in this situation with HTB and I would hope they will make an exception to those like us affected by covid. We should have been in the house this month!

If anyone is interested and is in the same predicament as me.. ive been told by the builder that the house will be build complete by December 2020. I spoke to Help to buy this morning and they seem to think its shouldn’t be a problem if it was delayed until January as i am eligible for the new scheme in April. So the funding would just be moved to the next financial year. This isn’t 100% confirmed but is positive news.

Im still getting the solicitor to put a rider in the contract so i can withdraw and get my deposit back if the funding was rejected due to the build completion being delayed, just so I'm fully covered.

I am surprised at how many people have signed the petition for the help to buy to be extended on the online parliament petitions. Only 685! I have just signed it - better than sitting around not hearing any updates. I am getting very anxious as this will be the only way that I can move. If this does not get extended, this will put thousands of people in jeopardy of ever moving.

It's extremely stressful not hearing of any extension to the current help to buy scheme - this will be the only way I will be able to afford to move. Only 685 people have signed the online parliament petition - I have just signed this as at least I feel like I've done something rather than just sitting here not hearing any kind of update.
