How many members give to charity EVERY month ? And how long have they been doing so, and how have the amount proportions changed over the years. And do folk help with disasters such as the current example of the Yemeni tragedy ?
I will answer the question myself, if so asked, once we have a thread of some substance. Many thanks.

I give to certain UK charities by DD every month.
But sorry. Will not give to ignorant, barbaric, cultures who are constantly usually killing each other over religious beliefs, self inflicted civil wars. Or inability to stop breeding and support their children even with aid? Biafra 1967. It still goes on and on?
It appears that much of the money and aid raised to help these type of people, never gets there as lost in admin, salaries, and food / medicines etc, mostly stolen by gangs to buy more weapons to keep killing innocents and themselves.
So why support warlords when there are plenty in the UK desperate for help!
Sorry old enough to have seen all through the years and would now more than ever support / give to UK charities: Macmillan Cancer Support. Great Ormand Street Hospital. Cancer Research UK. Marie Curie. etc.

I give £15 monthly to sponsor a child so they can get an education which I think is so important. Every year I give a donation to a palliative care charity overseas on his birthday, on our anniversary to the charity for the cancer he had. These are in his memory.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I prefer to give my time to support charities and community projects.
I don't give monthly to any particular charity but do give on an adhoc basis
I'm quite nervous about giving to some of the larger international charities as you have no idea where the money goes. I'd also pick the smaller charity shop rather than Oxfam.
My favourite is the Lions bookshop 50p a book and I always return what I've read so they can sell it again.
My Mum does however give monthly to Macmillan following suffered from cancer twice, she hosts a coffee morning once a year too. She also attends charity events and finds it quite distasteful how some people can be quite pushy about how much you donate at certain events, despite being quite generous monthly, probably far more so than those shaking the buckets.
Many of the events she has been to has been to support a family friend who was very Ill and sadly passed away last year from cancer. The Mother of the friend is the most tight fisted person I have ever known when it comes to charity especially in honour of her own daughter, to the point she won't even take her purse with her.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Don't give any money to any charities at any time.
Apologies if that upsets some people.

Charity begins at home.
I'm happy to donate things to charity shops and will have a look if anything I would like to buy.
I don't do are to these famines abroad, how do we know the money is going to those who need it.0 -
I give to animal charities.
I would not donate to charities alleging to help anyone abroad, especially the big ones, since the use of the money is suspect, and the people of those countries do nothing to help themselves – endlessly. I would imagine donations are just put to yet more 'big business' use of various kinds, and keeping people in poverty and ignorance is a never-ending way of raising money.0
