Recommend a new hairdryer?

My old faithful hairdryer blew up this morning, literally went up in a flash and clouds of smoke.
I need to buy a new one. I did buy one with lots of attachments ages ago and I hated it. I couldn't be bothered with all the bits and it didn't feel robust enough in my hand. I want one with variable speeds and heats and one that has a bit of weight to it.
Any recommendations?

boots own brand hairdryers are just as good as all the expensive ones.No doubt someone will come along and tell you a Dyson one at £299.00 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Don't be fooled.1

Can't recommend this enough, pro standard, very hardwearing and looks good and not silly money, I've had my white one for about 6 years and it's like new I use it every day, dd has had a pink one for about 4 years and the same story, I think you can shop around and prices vary but i buy direct.

I also swear by boots own brand. I think the one Im using right now is their cheapest bog standard one. Its so lightweight. Whilst I have short hair, its very very thick and takes a lot of drying time so lightweight is my number one priority2

I’m currently using this:

It’s a travel hairdryer but I use it all the time and love it. It cost £15.99.0 -

I am back to the drawing board!
Thanks for the recommendations though, they were all useful and I will check them all out again now.1 -
I’ve just bought a Tresemme “Fast dry 2000” hairdryer in Asda, and it’s fab. Lightweight, but not flimsy, it’s hot enough to dry my hair quickly, but not hot enough to burn toast (unlike my Nicky Clarke one, which I had to throw out after two months of frazzled hair). It has 3 heat/speed settings and a cool shot button.
Best of all, it cost just £12.00, and it comes with a 3 year guarantee, which you don’t have to register, you just need to keep your receipt. An absolute bargain, and the best hairdryer that I’ve had for ages!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"2
