STANDARD SECURITY DISCHARGE

Was wondering if anyone has trouble getting a Standard Security Discharge. Our mortgage was with Standard Life Bank and was paid off 2008. We are trying to remortgage our house now for a later life mortgage and have found out that our security was never discharged. Our lawyers have written to Barclays Bank Mortgage department who bought over Standard Life Bank in 2009. They have not responded to any correspondence from lawyers since March 2020. We have now lost our remortgage offer due to this. Anybody had any dealings with Barclays’s Bank re same. It looks like Scottish Law different to English law regarding these matters. Can anybody help us.

Perhaps posting in a more appropriate part of the forum would give more advice?

@helenrum we have this issue as well - only found out when selling, due to exchange next week but can't get Barclays to file the discharge in relation to the Standard Life entry that they took over.  Did you manage to get your situation sorted ?  Any feedback welcome !
