Car refinancing

I have a car purchaed on finance (HPA) with optional end of agreement purchase/balloon payment at an interest rate of 9.9% over 60 months. My credit rating has improved since I purchased a year ago and I am keen to see if I can get finance for a lower interest rate. Is it worth looking into this? Does anyone have experience of refinancing a car mid agreement?
