There are many many reasons for a driver to be uninsured that won't be obvious to the driver. One is a failed payment and communication not getting through.DCFC79 said:
Why no MOT, insurance or tax.sarahc8956 said:Hello,**Please don't judge!**On 13/06 my daughter got pulled over for having no insurance, MOT and Tax. This hasn't gone to court yet and they have extended her time to reply until October. She's just got a job as a home carer where she insures her own car, will these show on a DBS yet? She's in the UK btwThank you in advance!
The MOT I can sort of understand as you don't get a reminders.
The insurance and Tax I dont, you get notifications they are due.
She needs to make sure the doesnt happen again.0 -
Unfortunately, the Driving uninsured code will make future insurance expensive for the next 5 years. It will also mean she is unlikely to be able to hire a car from a mainstream rental firm for as long as the conviction appears on her driving record, as most of the mainstream rental firms won't allow drivers with insurance convictions to rent cars.MalMonroe said:You know, I think your daughter will be just fine. Home carers are in great demand, she'll have a few points on her driving licence, so what? Will she be driving clients around? If not, it's nothing to worry about but even if she will, it's not as if she's been caught driving dangerously or recklessly. We all make mistakes. Hopefully she's learned a harsh lesson.1 -
She'll have a harder time of insurance, sure, but that's not what the OP is asking. It shouldn't have any impact on care home work.0

Six points is the absolute minimum. It may be higher, depending on the exact circumstances.sarahc8956 said:Hello, no she's had her license for 5 years. There won't be a ban, but 6 points and a fine0 -
