Potential Driving Convictions and DBS'

Hello,
**Please don't judge!**
On 13/06 my daughter got pulled over for having no insurance, MOT and Tax. This hasn't gone to court yet and they have extended her time to reply until October.
She's just got a job as a home carer where she insures her own car, will these show on a DBS yet?
She's in the UK btw
Thank you in advance!

These don't show on a DBS. The company may be concerned about the amount of points she has though.

They don't show on a standard DBS check but it is possible for pending prosecutions to show on an enhanced check.
This is because an enhanced check is passed to the police force local to where the applicant lives and if they feel it relevant to the reason for the check, they are entitled to provide details of pending prosecutions and ongoing investigations.
It's unlikely that an application for a home carer will result in this happening but if there is any possibility that the OP's daughter needs to transport the person they are caring for, there is slim chance that it will.

Why no MOT, insurance or tax.
The MOT I can sort of understand as you don't get a reminders.
The insurance and Tax I dont, you get notifications they are due.
She needs to make sure the doesnt happen again.

Is she within her first two years of her first test pass?

There is a risk she'll be banned, so would she still be able to perform the functions of the role as a Home Carer?

She is unlikely to be disqualified. However, she will get six penalty points. As asked above, if it is less than two years since she passed her first driving test this will see her licence revoked. She will have to apply for a new provisional licence and pass her test (both parts) again. There is no appeal against this. It is an administrative function undertaken by the DVLA and not a judicial decision made by the court.
  • Hello, no she's had her license for 5 years. There won't be a ban, but 6 points and a fine

Notwithstanding all the other issues will she now be able to get insurance at anything like an affordable price?

You know, I think your daughter will be just fine. Home carers are in great demand, she'll have a few points on her driving licence, so what?  Will she be driving clients around? If not, it's nothing to worry about but even if she will, it's not as if she's been caught driving dangerously or recklessly.  We all make mistakes. Hopefully she's learned a harsh lesson.
