90% mortgages for FTB

We're looking to get a 90% mortgage with a term 30 years. We've seen that Nationwide are coming back on Monday but only offering a 25 year term which will make our monthly mortgage payments more than we'd like. 
I know HSBC and First Direct are offering 90% with a longer term than 25 years but I've heard bad things about both banks... mainly that they'll ask me to jump through many hoops and then decline me.
Has anyone had any experience of HSBC or First Direct during Covid times?
Or is anyone else aware of any mortgage lenders offering 90% at a fair rate?

FYI- we're both permanently employed. I've recently started a new job but have two months worth of pay slips and was permanently employed before that (I work for a London Council). 6 months probation period. We both have good credit score and are borrowing under the amount we can afford based on income. Neither of us have been furloughed.

We have managed to apply for a 90% ltv with Platform via habito mortgage brokers. A 28 year term. It’s not a fantastic rate but we’re using it to simply get us into the house we want then we will overpay and remortgage later on. 

We applied last week and it’s going to underwriting fairly soon I believe. HSBC are difficult to get in with each day and our purchase needs to be quick so we can’t wait.
