Hr job interview and previous disciplinary

Hi I was employed by an NHS Trust and made an error resulting in a final written warning at a disciplinary. I wasn't sacked but left of my own accord months later. My new employer was, aware and there was no issue with recruitment. The warning is time spent and according to hr policy after up to 3 years all written records are destroyed. I now want yo apply for a job back at this Trust. I should have a good reference from my current employer and a good one from another NHS Trust I worked for years before this event do I discuss this at interview? I don't want to be dishonest. But if it's gone and not relevant would the interview panel be made aware? Would hr put the previous disciplinary on the references they receive from other trusts?

Surely you'd have to put the trust which employed you prior to your current employer down as a referee? If you didn't that, to me at least, would set alarm bells going off.
i would take the approach if you get an interview of if you aren't asked I wouldn't tell but if you are asked I would tell the truth.
Regardless of whether written records are destroyed or not there's always the chance that people would remember you and have 'off the record' chats.
but if you don't apply, you'll never get to wonder whether you had that bridge to cross will you?1 -

I'd only bring it up if they do, which is unlikely. It's a written warning from over three years ago, water under the bridge now. You can't keep declaring it for the rest of your life!

I wouldn't bring it up either. If they ask then yes obviously be honest, you took the warning, learned your lesson etc.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
