Payperdrop closed... courier recommendations

Hi
I just put a load of stuff up on eBay in the last week expecting to use Payperdrop to deliver the heavier things at £5 a pop. But I've just tried to make a booking and it seems that they have shut down for the rest of the year with a promise of their own delivery service in January.

I used Pharos last week to get a parcel to Italy which was OK but the 3.5kg package I want sent to the UK is coming up around the £9 mark with them. I've got other auctions finishing soon that I'd assumed would also go via Payperdrop when I listed them so list postage as £5.

So does anyone have any recommendations for a similarly priced alternative? Or am I back to Standard Parcels?

cheers
Andrew

I'm in exactly the same boat - looking for a new courier agent whilst PPD return in the New Year (have provided an excellent reliable service with unbeatable prices).Anyway, Andrew, you can check out the following pagehttp://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=617485&highlight=parcel+deliveryI've just bought a £6.99 delivery service (expecting collection tomorrow) via eBay.... just hope the collection guy comes.

I've just used a company on ebay called Balloon and Gift.

They are similar to PayPerDrop, except it cost £6 instead of £4.99.

It's annoying as I was expecting to use PPD and charged people accordingly, so I've had to pay the additional £1 out my own pocket :(
Here I go again on my own....
  • Thanks for the replies.
I've ended up using Parcel2go for my last batch of deliveries. It's been £5.99 + VAT which comes o £7.04 in total. I'm VAT registeed so it's not a problem but I'll still check out your suggestions - thanks.

On the ebay and other auctions board (see my sig) there is a sticky thread about helpful links to ebay. On that thread there is a list of parcel couriers which you may find useful.

I see Ebay are going to chase sellers who excessively charge high for post and packing.I believe if you undercharge you could ask for a them to make another rule if you make an error. They may refund it.:p

I'm off to see if any sellers have used the cheap courier deals lately.
