When can I remortgage

I am with nationwide and I want to remortgage and move away.
I started my mortgage March the 15th and the 5 years ends March 15th 2021.
Can I switch 5 months before to another provider?(without fees) that’s what it says on the “can you switch” section of nationwide website.
thanks

If you are switching a product within same bank in your case Nationwide you can do it some months before end of your current fix in this case you said 5 months. If you want to remortgage and move to another bank then you need to talk to a mortgage adviser who will advise you on how long the process normally takes so that it ties up with around that 15th of March when you took out your mortgage. Moving banks earlier will incur some fee which you can pay if you chose to and if it is financially beneficial to you.Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)
