Paying of a Mortgage early with Early redemption Penalty

I have a mortgage with £128,000 outstanding, if i were to pay off early I would incur fees of £6,376.39
However when i login I see that I am able to make an over payment in the region of £12,900 before December, then a similar amount in January. 
If i did this would it reduce the Early Redemption Charge or would this stay the same in any case. 
Thank you in advance. the mortgage is with Santander if that makes a difference.

early repayment charge is based on you final fee at redemption. I am the same im currently paying down the mortgage before close it out to lower the ERC. I reduce mine about 40 pounds per 1000 over paid. the early you can afford to make payments it will lower the interest you are currently paying out now. Most lenders adjust from 500 overpayment.

@ddonq1412 Thankyou, i think i will make a 10% payment soon and then one in January, then see where the Early redemption charge is to see if its worth paying off. i think you are saying if i make over payment it also helps reduce the Early redemption Penalty. I'm 2 years into a 5 year deal.
