Call me cynical but anybody else think some times winners are not randomly chosen?
Take for example a competition on twitter ran by a company called Diamond Whites to win a Hot Tub. They've announced the winner which is great and congratulations to them, but the winner hasn't posted anything since 2019.

No, I won thermals for snowbaording and as my profile picture is us snowboarding I think this is why I won.
I've also won goggles and a hemlet - again snowboarding.
I think sometimes they choose profiles and then maybe randomly pick from appropiate people. (But I don't want to speculate) :PDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
Same as almost any competition whether it's on FB or not - the winner selections are as random as a promoter chooses to make them - it is just much harder to know if something might be fishy if it is not a social media competition. (officially against the rules of course)0

just because they havent posted, doesnt mean they arent actively entering competitions though?2

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I'm not sure. I tend to win lots of books on Twitter & I used to win a few on Goodreads when they were open to the UK. Could be random or could be because I talk about books in my bio and have links to Goodreads & Bookcrossing, where you can see that I review books. But then less people tend to enter book comps so could be random.Wins in 2023 - 35

I've won two comps on Facebook (a local one, and one from Bambino Mio for reusable nappies), and none on Instagram although I find keeping up with my notifications so difficult now so may of missed someone I won...0

I use to work somewhere that run competitions on social media, I was constantly having to justify picking random winners as per the terms and conditions and ASA Law, but always they wanted someone who was relevant to the brand. Mostly, I was able to to push the random draw if it was done on my day in the office, but I can say that on the days I wasn't in a winner would be selected on who the management thought was the most relevant.....so yeah, I think it happens prob more than people realise!

unpopular opinion maybe, but i do not believe any competitions hosted on blog sites are randomly picked. At best i think the ones that are chosen at random are the exceptions that prove the rule. I do not enter them.====================================
