:T Hi I am looking for a simple, not very expensive sat nav, If possible I would like it to alert me of speed cameras and if poss to come with Europe map as well as the UK. I have looked at tom tom 2 (I think) - any ideas? I want them as cheap as poss - £100 maybe or less (hopefully not more) and I would like to buy 1-3 so can anyone recommend anywhere - where maybe I can get a discount if buying 3??
Many thanks

If you want the best buy Tom Tom. If you want cheaper then buy some tertiary brand like Tevion or something from Aldi/Lidl etc.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Except tomtom are not the best are they so why say that? They have many problems and are overpriced just because they are one of the better known brands. I would avoid at all costs, when I used one it was worse than the sat nav I had built in my PDA by a long way.
There are a few other threads with sat navs starting at less than £50 so look around this site.0 -

Because I have been using Tom Tom for around 4 years, Navigator 2, then 3 then 5 and now 6. Have also tried various others Garmin, Tevion etc bought by others. Also tried the in built program on my N95. All of them are pants and nothing compares to Tom Tom. So that is why.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I have used around 5 different brands with work and I bought Garmin, it is a Nuva 250 and has speed camera alerts and europe maps. I didn't like the tom tom, it's maps are messy at times and the accuracy of the Garmin was much better then the TomTom I used. Now I am not saying any is best overall as with everything the more you spend the more you get but for the same money as a Garmin/TomTom I took the Garmin hands down.
I think Halfords are doing an offer at the minute on the 250 at about £120-£130 so would definately be wotrth the investment in my opinion.0 -
