Basic employment tax help

in Cutting tax
I am both employed and self employed, and I earn much more in my employed job. My self employed job isn’t much.
However I don’t seem to be taxed in my employed job and when it comes to doing my self assessment I get hit with my tax at the end of the year.
This has happened for the last two years or so.
Have I managed to mess up something when submitting at some point? Can I change this? It’s painful!
I was happy being taxed on my employment monthly and then paying my self employment tax at the end of the tax year.

For this to happen presumably your employment income is a little under £12,500 a year? If it is more, I would expect you to be paying PAYE on your employment income.0
