Given this is Amigo who have questions to answer in various places about affordability checks etc, it might be possible to offer them a settlement if you can afford to do so. It is very unfair that you should pay someone else's debt but unfortunately that is the nature of loan guarantees.
You do of course have a claim against your "friend" but as others have said, fi you cannot find him and he has no money.....0
