Barclays Capital Trust Gift Plan (Barclays Unicorn)

I am trying to trace a policy that Barclays have told me was passed to Legal & General on the 18th February 2002.
This policy was taken out in November 1974 and was a Barclays Capital Trust Gift Plan, and my mother was the donor.
I have a Holding Number and paperwork between November 1974 - 15th November 1995.
I also have a letter dated 28th April 1992 telling me that I had become the owner of the units and they would be transferred to a monthly savings plan.
I have been talking with Barclays and they have assured me that all historical paperwork relating to gift plans and Unicorn Trust were passed to Legal & General in 2002 and since that date Legal & General Insurance are responsible but are saying no trace of my details on their systems.
I would appreciate any help to try to get a resolve on this matter and help in tracing this policy.

Hi Brad, have you had any luck with this ? My mother in law is in the same position and at 90 cannot find out where her investment albeit small has disappeared? Thanks Dazza0
