NatWest Valuation

Bit of a strange one - valuation was instructed on the 5th of May and due to the back log and my location only carried out today. When the surveyor was in returning the keys to the estate agent he mentioned to them that he didn’t think the mortgage company would lend on the house due to its construction. It’s timber frame and timber clad and NatWest intermediaries website say they do lend on that type of house however I’m sick with worry. We have had offer subject to valuation for months can’t believe we could have waited all this time for nothing. Estate agent told us his comment when we called to make sure the survey was done.

Oh dear you can only wait and see.
Maybe speak to a local mortgage broker who might be able to find a lender who will take on a timber framed house with timber cladding.
At least it's not a high rise flat with plastic cladding ☹️
