Halifax DIP Update

Hi all, so I recently took advice on here about a DIP I got without realising I had two late mortgage payments in 2015. So I went back to the broker and we re-did the DIP. I answered yes to any arrears in last six years (two number 1’s on credit file), but Halifax didn’t request any more info and approved us instantly for the full amount! I assume this will be checked in detail at full application but does this not make the Halifax DIP a bit worthless??

My broker said the DIP was more on affordability but a soft CC is done.
So, I would expect that would have shown!

My understanding is that it is a hard search...I have also heard that Halifax are more realistic about previous issues than some lenders, and understand that sometimes things happen in life. Someone with more experience than me may know more however.

Still wondering about this. Does anyone know how reliable the Halifax Dip is with missed payments. It was five years ago and one was one day late and one was two days late! So annoyed with myself! Xx
