Kensington Mortgages existing customers

Hi is anyone having problems transferring products with Kensington Mortgages? Our fixed rate is due to end at the end of August and Kensington have said they are not doing transfer of products at the moment for existing customers and the only way we can fix back in with them is to do it as remortgage - pay the release fee and legal fees to fix back in as a new customer. We are now stuck as I was made redundant in February so unable to get a mortgage with another lender as I have no earnings. The SVR payment will be £500 per month more than what we currently pay. It seems very wrong to me that they are not helping existing customers at the moment.
