Hi I have quite a complicated question not sure if anyone can help? I sort FMA last year and entered into a debt management plan with step change. They have been great and I’ve been paying my monthly payments without fail. Anyway I’ve always thought that sunny lent to me irresponsibility as I was getting loan after loan after loan after loan. I had so many! I was going to look at putting a complaint in when my dmp was finished. However I see they have gone into administration. I feel reluctant paying them when I feel they lent irresponsibility  ( to be honest they are 10 months off been paid off in full) as I no when I put a complaint in after I’ve paid them due to been in administration I’ll only get a fraction back. So my question is would I be better to stop paying them now and put my complaint in as I’m likely to save my money that way  should the complaint go in my favour? I hope this make sense? Thanks

Don't stop paying as it could end up being worse for you.
I don't see why you cant put a complaint in now, you may only get a fraction back but its still a fraction.

If they are in administration then you won't see a penny. The secured loans will get first digs then the solicitors and administrators will get the rest. Unsecured creditors won't see a penny.

You should complain anyway, you won`t get any refund, but you may get your balance reduced, or written off.
If you stop paying you will get debt collection letters, and still be chased for the balance, its a difficult one for you I know, in the end its your call if you continue to pay or not.

Nobody put a gun to your head, lenders should maybe start to sue borrowers for irresponsible borrowing. You'll need to check with Stepchange what to do with any lump sum you receive, not that you'll get a penny back from Sunny because they've gone bust.

This sounds like irresponsible borrowing to me. Why did you take out so many loans?

Always one who calls it how it really is? I agree!
  • Top marks. Sunny had a swipe at the regulator on the way out.
    Respects.
