Hi, my husband and I are almost 7 years post discharge (October) and currently have a DIP on a mortgage with Halifax. I checked his equifax credit file yesterday and there is a Santander account on there from before the bankruptcy however from 2011 - 2017 (last entry) it has a green tick every month then the last month says satisfactorily closed.
Is this likely to be having an impact? He has an excellent credit score. Should I get it removed?
Thanks x

You don't say what sort of account it is, but a properly managed account would generally not present problems, despite any changes to the score.0

Hi sorry I think it was a Santander Credit Card. I thought it was included in the bankruptcy but it is very well reported with no sign of default etc?0

Bankrupcy is an all encompassing thing, that covers all your debts at the time you go bankrupt, so wether they are listed or not, if its a qualifying debt for bankrupcy, its included. There has been a tendancy in the last few months for old accounts to suddenly re-appear on credit files, even though they have not previously been reported for years, I have no idea why this is, I have had an old joint bank account reappear from 2002, the year it was closed, and its still now been reported as open, with a green tick each month.I currently have a live complaint with the Halifax over this, as i have suddenly been re-associated with my ex wife financially, so far they have not issued a final response, due to covid, they are understaffed, so i`m still waiting.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
