Mortgage extension & Bank statements

Hi everyone, we have a new build which has been delayed so will have to apply for extension. We have already exchanged and don’t see any issues. We have however been buying things for the property we have saved money so bought sofa dining set etc all outright. Do we have to produce bank statements as part of our extension? On original application nationwide didn’t even want bank statements just payslips. Just was a bit worried as we have been doing a fair bit of spending. Any advice would be great if anyone recently been through the process? Thanks

As long as your spending is from cash, not credit or overdraft then why would you be concerned? Lenders know people buy things in advance and for when they are ready to move.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

That’s ok then.. yes from cash just at the moment what’s coming in is going out as we are spending spare monthly cash on buying things... apart from we both send £500 each to another account but of course this still shows as coming out of our current accounts

When you done your mortgage extension with Nationwide, did you have to provide payslips or any evidence to extend your mortgage?
