Any hints for non-toxic daisy removal?

Our lawn is over-run with daisies at the moment, which are spreading like wild fire. As we have cats and dogs around, we couldn't use a toxic weed killing substance.
I seem to remember a discussion on vinegar (believe it or not!) killing weeds some time ago. Anyone know if this would work on daisies, or is there anything else that would work?
Thanks.

Yep, boiled brown vinegar poured over weeds kills them, be careful though because boiled vinegar will do really damage if you get it on you, so mind your hands and toes, be careful of splash back. It kills anything so you have to make sure you only get it on the weeds, not the grass.
Should be fine for pets once it's cooled down after a few minutes. When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
I dig mine out with an old kitchen devil knife, but we dont have a big infestation, mind you I enjoy doing it so I have a go on a fairly regular basis, I also dig out any other weeds while I am at it, and as for the slugs well!!!!
