Fixed Rate Mortgage

Hi-I am currently looking at applying for a 5 year fixed rate mortgage. Can anyone recommend a good rate or mortgage deal? I am currently with the Abbey and will soon be coming to the end of my 4.99 fixed rate soon.

You can get some idea by visiting one of the sites linked above - charcol, moneyextra etc.

Most fixed rate deals have been revised down recently, so you should be able to fix for about 4.7% - not much lower than your current rate however.

As posted previously there are rates form the mid 4.5%s upwards - however they all have differing fees.

Which one would be suitbale depends on your circumstances and what kind of loan amount you are looking at.

yorkshire building soc, nationwide, clydesdale offset offer both seem pretty reasonable.

i just took out a 10yr fix with yorkshire building soc, at 4.99%.

they also now have a 5yr fix offset at 4.99% or 4.69% with no offset
