Functional Maths Level-2 Question?

Calculus wasn't in the O-level syllabus in the early 1980s0

It was on the Joint Matriculation Board O-level syllabus for 1974. Is it actually true you can study A-level (or whatever it is these days) maths and not do calculus before doing a degree? And just as I am struggling with long division these days, I certainly do not remember any calculus except we were doing things like calculating instantaneous rates of change. And to the OP - I made a living out of manipulating numbers but reckon I used a calculator for every calculation I ever did at work - umlike some colleagues who were proud of their arithmetical abilities but occasionally got the wrong answer from their heads. Unless you want to learn some new maths anyway, I wouldn't bother.0
