AA Loans
Hi, A quick heads up from my experience from AA about my loan.
I was gifted a 3 month payment holiday from AA loans, Eg: I pay my loan of £232 on the 9th of every month. I called on the 3rd of April to ask for a payment holiday which they granted but unfortunately due to my next payment being only 6 days away (9th April 2020) i was told my payment holiday would be granted from 9th May, 9th June, 9th July. So my next loan payment of £232 being on the 9th August 2020. I received a email confirming this.
I received a email from AA loans on the 25th June 2020, Saying my payment holiday was approaching the end and i was due to start my loan repayments back on the 9th of July. I called them up to query this as i was not in a position to pay back this money yet as i was aware i was ok until August, The lady advised me the payment never got took from my bank on the 9th April 2020. So my payment holiday was from 9th April, 9th May, 9th June 2020. So the loan repayment has to be made on the 9th July. Which has left me in a bit of a pickle as i am not back at work just yet and funds are low at the moment.
Fortunately i am able to make the payment with a little help from my friends and family. The lady then told me that there has been ANOTHER error from the admin department as they have not "Lifted" the holiday repayment break from my account. Which means i will have to call the company on the 9th of July to make the payment instead of it coming out by direct debit. I then asked the lady what would of happened if i did not call to query this as i was so far aware my next payment would of been on the 9th August 2020. She told me they would not of been able to take the payment which would of resulted in a error on my credit file and obviously a lot of stress and worry thereafter.
So with this company making 3 errors regarding my loan and nearly costing me a error on my credit file, Please be careful this has not happened to you.

If you're furloughed so receiving 80% of your normal income it shouldn't have been an issue paying it anyway unless your finances are in a precarious knife edge state as for the vast majority of people their living expenses have fallen, much more than the drop in take home pay due to no travel to work expenses and not being able to do things like go to Maccy Ds, Starbucks, Greggs or any of their normal leisure activities. The fact you're going to be struggling even though you've not made £696 worth of payments you should have normally made should be a wake up call that you're heading for debt crisis. Might want to think about participating in the Debt Free Wannabe board and seeing what you can do to improve the situation.0
