Hi
I wonder if anyone can help?
I have no knowledge of DVD players and seek some advice please.
My questions are.......
can I use this this machine both independently and also through my own tv? (I don't have a scart in the back of my curruent TV (dear me eh?!) but hope to get a new TV soon that will of course have a scart. I'm not too worried about being able to play the DVD player through my current TV but wondered if it would play through my hopeful new TV with scart? I thought that I could maybe use this DVD on its own till I get my new 'scart' telly!
Also......can I play mpegs (music videos) and other wee things I download off the net....?
I'm sure you'll all have more knowledge than me....I'd apprecaite any advise..
Many ThanksMany a Mickle makes a Muckle!0 -

You should be able to buy a Scart to AV lead such as the one used with the Playstation 2 to use your DVD player with your current TV.
When you get a new TV you can simply use a standard scart cable.
The mentioned DVD player at the beginning of this post does play Mpegs, Jpegs etc. basiclly anything you download off the net.0 -

DIVX is a compressed video format (nothing to do with Karaoke) used to enable movies to take up much less space on your harddrive or recordable disc, a typical DVD would be say 7GB a DIVX could be 700MB i.e. 10% of the size, the downside is the quality is not as good but as good as a video tape.0 -
Think of Divx or Xvid as the video version of what the mp3 is to music cds0
