NHS redeployment

In which case you need speak with your management.
Nobody on here can know what plans your trust has in place for this occurrence2 -
Were you aware that there was works planned in your department that meant you would need to temporarily move?
What's happened to your colleagues?
How about asking your nurse/line manager how long you can expect to be redeployed for?
If you are not happy where you are is it worth talking to your manager about being redeployed to an area that better utilises your expertise?
Is there some underlying issue here? Do you feel devalued?
Whilst you have asked advice from a forum it is unlikely that anyone would have the experience that you have described and seek guidance on.
Please come back and let us know the outcome.

Check with HR/your Union, but most NHS contracts do usually contain a clause that allows the trust to require you to work anywhere that they request - ours certainly do (although not nursing staff group)1

Wantingadvice2020, what do you think the solution should be? You can't move back to your specialist department, but it seems you don't want to be deployed elsewhere. Do you think the NHS Trust should just allow you to stay at home, on full pay, until your department is operational again? That seems to be what you are suggesting.

gwynals.....no talk of works being carried out within department before redeployment, and line managers have no idea what is happening.
Fellow colleagues are also redeployed to wards, and the wards no longer need them.
Are you aware if it is possible to redeploy to another trust to carry out work whilst this work is being carried out?0 -

If your trust is in some sort of partnership with another then your contact may have an obligation to work at either site.
If not then they couldn't "make" you work at a different trust. However if they have no work for you then they could go down the redundancy route - in which case a job at a nearby trust could be "suitable alternative employment" in which case your choice is work there or resign.
As others have asked, what do you want as an outcome?1 -
You seem to be quite keen to attack people who have offered genuine advice or comments,
You are highly unlikely to get specific nhs hr advice on this forum what you will get is general employment advice and opinion. If you want specific advice speak to hr or find a specialist nhs group/ forum2 -
Regardless of Covid your a nurse your contract will say they can deploy you into another position.0

You should should hang your head in shame, for the lack of respect you have shown in that comment.
I was hoping for some HR advice from within the NHS regarding covid redeployment policies, not general narrow minded comments!2 -
As a former NHS manager I'm curious to know what service you provide as a specialist nurse if your whole(?) department is closed and you can't work there. How is your trust continuing to provide this specialist service? Presumably your local Clinical Commisioning Group wants the service?
